Time Flies

It's been a year almost!! I haven't had the time to think and actually get some writing done. Done and dusted not just a scribble. I can't even sum up how busy I have been with building Apps for people. The main customer is putting in money to try and get their business up and running in the digital space and it has been a challenging time.
Most often people have a vague sense of why they are doing something but it's hard to get it out of them. It is obvious just how difficult it can be to express the reason behind an investment especially once you place emotion behind it. The rationalisation and dramas of what it should look like and how it works can eat hours of your life and drain you of all energy.
Is there an end in sight? I'm running an ultra marathon here and its about keeping the momentum sustainable. There have been lots of meetings, talks about what people want but never really a sense of confidence that anyone know what Users want.
This is where identifying a business need is vital. What does you business need and interrogate whether it is a genuine need and whether it will ever solve through good ideas. I often see managers tasked with delivery but seldom understanding what it takes to deliver a vision. The business vision has to be water-tight otherwise that ship will sink. A small ingress of water flowing a long period of time and people will ask why are we doing this?
